Saber's Log entry 1 October 17 2077--
Had a report on the where 'bouts of our resident street urchins. A stroll into the restricted zone with a small team investigating the area thefts trace within the simian quarter. The leads ended in an abandoned facility now a derelict. From records we recall this facility was working on something classified. Something possibly sinister considered it blew up months later. We happened upon something unbelievable. Two wolf morph pups. Twins. Boy and girl, though sharing color and height characteristics. Curious considering the last wolf morph died of disease from the last plague that hit us. They sure put up a fight upon round up. Strong for half starved and dehydrated pups. Both the siblings worked together to evade capture, attacked only the softer parts of my squads muscles. How they knew how to perform feats like that is beyond any of us.
Had to try a lighter approach to get them out of hiding. Come alone, offer some food, establish trust. Academy training number one always helps with the young. They seemed to take towards me and receive me well though. More on that later. Saw their eyes when we brought them to LPD. Saw in they eyes, these kids were confused and had no direction. These pups needed a family.
In process we had more difficulty cleaning them up. It was more of a chore than an act of civil service to the lost. Separating them proved to be a bad idea. They acted out violently when not with together, shouting and biting. Having them in a separate dorm was the idea of the high mind and I voted against that. They are a single pack and i advised earlier that they were not to be separated. Idiots. They of course were nearly killing themselves trying to escape to get to each other.
When I returned they were in the same room. They were much more calm sleeping under a bed together. A den perhaps? Been years since we saw wolves and their behavior. But I still remember the pack behavior in wolf morphs. As i said they seem relaxed around me, maybe I have imprinted on them and they see me as their surrogate father. We've already approved inter-species adoption to help lower the rise in orphans of Animapolis. She always said she wanted kids but our biology wouldn't allow it. I'm determined to help these pups. I need to know how they were able to survive...
End of Transmission.
